Who we are

Imprint Media Group Pty Ltd (ABN 88 636 921 429), trading as Imprint Advertising, is a digital marketing company based in Adelaide, South Australia. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean that company.

We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. To talk to us about privacy, email hello@imprintadvertising.com or write to us at 217 Flinders St, Adelaide SA 5000, Australia.

What this policy covers

This policy covers this website and any enquiry you send through it. It also covers the personal information we hold about you if you become a client.

It does not cover two things. First, the terms of any paid work we do for you: those live in the proposal or services agreement you sign with us. Second, personal information we handle on behalf of a client — when we run ads, analytics or automation inside a client's accounts, that data belongs to the client and their privacy policy governs it. We handle it on their instructions, and only for the work they engaged us to do.

What we collect

What you type into a form

Our enquiry forms ask for your first name, last name, email address, mobile number, business name, the service you are interested in, and a short description of what you are trying to fix. Some forms ask one extra question: the ads pop-up asks for a rough monthly ad spend, and the free AEO check asks for the website you want us to look at. We also record which page you were on when you sent the enquiry, because it tells us what you were reading and saves you repeating yourself.

Only your name and email are genuinely needed to reply to you. The rest helps us give you a straighter answer, and you can leave it out.

What we collect automatically

Through analytics and advertising cookies, we collect information about how you use the site: the pages you view, the site or ad that sent you here, roughly where you are (from your IP address, at city level), your device and browser, and what you clicked. This is aggregated behaviour, not a file with your name on it.

Whether those cookies load by default depends on where you are — in Europe, the UK and California we ask first and load nothing until you say yes; in Australia we do not, because no law requires it. Our Cookie Policy sets out exactly what gets set, in which case, and how to switch it off.

Turn them off, and no analytics or advertising tags load at all. We then see nothing beyond the standard server logs our host keeps.

What we do not collect

  • Sensitive information. We do not ask about your health, race, religion, political views, sexual orientation or criminal record, and we would rather you did not send it to us.
  • Payment details. There is no checkout on this website. Client invoices are handled separately, and we never store your card number.
  • Anything from children. This site is aimed at business owners and marketing teams, not people under 16.

How we use your information

We use it to do the job you contacted us about, and to run a business. Specifically:

  • To reply to your enquiry, and if it goes somewhere, to scope and deliver the work.
  • To send you marketing — occasional emails about what we do and what we have learnt. Only if you asked for it or enquired with us, and every email carries a one-click unsubscribe.
  • To improve the site — working out which pages answer the question and which ones lose people. That is what analytics is for.
  • To measure our own advertising — if you arrived from one of our ads, the advertising tags tell us the ad worked. It is the same measurement we build for clients, pointed at ourselves.
  • To meet our legal obligations — tax, records, and responding to a lawful request.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not trade contact lists, and we do not buy them either.

Who we share it with

A short list of service providers who run the plumbing. Each one gets only what it needs to do its job.

ResendYour enquiry: name, email, mobile, business, service interest, message, and the page you enquired from. Resend is the service that delivers your enquiry to our inbox and sends you the confirmation email.United States

We may also disclose personal information to our professional advisers, or where the law requires it. If the business is ever sold or restructured, client and enquiry records would transfer with it, and you would be told.

Sending information overseas

As the table shows, several of these providers store data outside Australia, mainly in the United States. By using our forms or accepting cookies, you consent to that transfer. We choose established providers with their own security and privacy commitments, but once information is held overseas it is subject to the laws of that country, and Australian privacy law may not protect it in the same way. That is a real trade-off, and we would rather say so plainly than bury it.

Marketing, and how to stop it

If you enquire, we may email you about our services. Under the Spam Act 2003 (Cth) every marketing email we send carries a working unsubscribe link, and we action it promptly. You can also reply and tell us to stop, or email hello@imprintadvertising.com.

Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop us replying to an enquiry you actually sent, or emailing you about work we are doing for you.

How we store it and keep it safe

Your information sits in the systems listed above, not in a spreadsheet on someone's laptop. Access is limited to the people who need it, accounts use multi-factor authentication, and the site is served over HTTPS.

No system is completely secure, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. If a data breach happens and it is likely to cause you serious harm, we will tell you and notify the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner, as the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme requires.

How long we keep it

Enquiries stay in our email system while there is a live conversation, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back. Client records are kept for seven years after an engagement ends, because tax and record-keeping law requires it. Analytics data expires on the schedule set out in the Cookie Policy.

If you want your information deleted sooner, ask us, and we will — unless we are legally required to keep it.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

  • Show you what personal information we hold about you.
  • Correct it if it is wrong or out of date.
  • Delete it, subject to the record-keeping obligations above.
  • Stop marketing to you, at any time, no reason needed.
  • Change your cookie choices — use the "Cookie preferences" link in the footer of any page.

Email hello@imprintadvertising.com and we will respond within 30 days. There is no charge for a reasonable request. We may need to verify who you are first, for obvious reasons.

If you are in the UK or EU

We are an Australian business, but where the UK or EU GDPR applies to you, you also have the right to object to processing, to ask for a portable copy of your data, and to withdraw consent at any time. Our lawful bases are your consent (cookies and marketing), performance of a contract (client work), and our legitimate interest in responding to a business enquiry you sent us.

Complaints

Come to us first — email hello@imprintadvertising.com with the detail, and we will investigate and write back within 30 days. Most privacy complaints turn out to be a misunderstanding or a mistake, and both are quicker to fix directly.

If you are not satisfied with how we handled it, you can take it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au, or on 1300 363 992.

Changes to this policy

When our tools or practices change, this policy changes with them, and the "last updated" date at the top moves. If a change materially affects how we use your information, we will make that clear rather than quietly editing a paragraph.
